The Math Prep & Learning Lab (MPLL) offers assistance for students needing to navigate the study tool in ALEKS PPL in order to improve their math placement score,  programs for students who need to retest before enrolling, services specifically designed to help students prepare for and succeed in MA 15 and MA 17 and other math assistance (Pharm Tech).

Courses we assist with:

  • MA 15, MA 17, MA 70, MA 107 and MA 115
  • Math placement test help

Fall 2024 tutoring hours 

106 Cook Academic Hall

  • Monday - Thursday: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. (IP, V)
  • Friday: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. (IP, V)
  • Tuesday, Wednesday, Sunday: 8-10 p.m. (V)

Hours will vary during Holidays and Finals Week.  Please see Blackboard for updates.

Tutoring services

Tutoring services are available in a variety of delivery formats. We encourage you to connect with a subject-specific tutorial lab for support. Access to Blackboard resources, including Zoom meeting rooms, are provided by each subject-specific tutorial lab.

Drop-in tutoring support

  • In-person tutorial support is available in each subject-specific tutorial lab.
  • Online tutoring support for each subject-specific tutorial lab is accessed through Blackboard.

How to connect with online tutoring 

  1. Login to Blackboard.
  2. Scroll down to “My Organizations” at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.
  3. Click on Math Prep & Learning Lab.
  4. Read the information on the Announcement on the front page to find information on expectations and how to access online tutoring.
  5. Click the link provided and enter the password which is also provided.

Do you want to improve your Math Placement Score? You can access the PPL study tool through the online center.

Do you need to brush up to improve your score before enrolling in your math course?

  • Drop by and we will help you determine what you need to review, then provide you with either paper and pencil or computer resources to help you review.
  • Or, email us at mathpreplab@grcc.edu with your name and student ID #. We will add you to Blackboard where you can access all of our lab resources online.
