Because your success is important to us, we are here to help you access GRCC and community resources so you can focus on your education, such as: Food, Utility Costs, Housing Costs, Housing Resources, Transportation (i.e bus passes, gas, etc), Auto Repairs, Healthcare/Medical Needs, Tuition and Fees, Textbooks and School Supplies, Internet Access, SNAP benefits (food assistance), Childcare, etc.

GRCC Resources

No-cost and low-cost alternatives to medical, dental and vision

GRCC Dental Clinic

GRCC Dental Clinic offers preventative services to the public. Services include review of medical and dental history, blood pressure screening, cleanings, preliminary dental hygiene exams, x-rays, fluoride treatments, dental health instruction, chemotherapeutic agents and sealants.
For GRCC staff and students, $20 covers a preliminary exam, cleaning, necessary x-rays and a fluoride treatment.

Community Resources

Baxter Community Center - Holistic Health Clinic

Baxter Community Center - Holistic Health Clinic provides pediatric, adults, eye exams, kidney specialist, and dental care. Events and classes are also available at free or low costs.

  • Payment: Dental care is exclusively provided to those without insurance, health care accepts uninsured and insured patients (insurance: only Priority Health or Meridian for Medicaid, Medicare, or MIChild)

Catherine’s Health Center

Catherine’s Health Center provides women’s health, medication assistance, walking program, health insurance navigation, and various other programs and events throughout the year.

  • Payment: Some insurances or a sliding fee scale for those who qualify.
  • Location:  Visit their main site and select locations to determine which location is right for you.

Cherry Health

Cherry Health provides primary care, dental, counseling, vision, women’s health, pediatrics, pharmacy, psychiatric care, health promotion, correctional residential and reentry services, and chronic disease care.

Community Healthcare Access Program (CHAP)

The Community Healthcare Access Program (CHAP) provides assistance in maintaining health and understanding how to navigate the healthcare and social service system—thus, reducing costs and improving health outcomes. Services are open to adults and children who have Priority Health Medicaid, Molina Medicaid or are uninsured living in Kent County. Pregnant women and families with children under five years of age with private insurance are still eligible.

Exalta Health

Exalta Health is a faith-based nonprofit that provides medical, dental, vision, behavioral health, spiritual care, insurance navigation, assistance finding affordable prescriptions, and several additional services through community partnerships.

Planned Parenthood

Planned Parenthood helps the community with matters related to abortion, birth control, cancer, emergency contraception, gender identity, health and wellness, pregnancy and testing, sex and relationships, sexual orientation, sexually transmitted infections (STDs) and general healthcare. 

Pregnancy Resource Center

Pregnancy Resource Center an help with needs like ultrasounds, STI testing, and pregnancy testing. They can also help with parenting classes, maternity clothing and baby items like diapers, formula, etc. 

HELP Pregnancy Crisis Aid

HELP Pregnancy Crisis Aid can help if you have a baby-related essential need (such as formula, diapers and wipes). Call or Text: (616) 459-9139.

Mel Trotter Ministries

Mel Trotter Ministries provides Dental, chiropractic, vision, medical support, and non-medical detox.

Oasis of Hope Center

Oasis of Hope Center provides same day sick visits (strep tests), minor sprains, disease management (diabetes, high blood pressure), counseling (mental and spiritual).

  • Payment: Oasis of Hope Center provides quality health care at no cost to individuals who do not have health insurance and have a total household income of up to 200% of federal poverty guidelines.

Resilience Of Ottawa and Allegan counties

Resilience works to reduce and prevent domestic and sexual violence, while providing 24-hour support for all survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking.

Start Your Recovery

Start Your Recovery was developed by bringing together experts in substance misuse treatment from leading nonprofit, academic, and government institutions. Through this resource, you can hear stories from people with similar experiences and learn how to recognize and deal with substance misuse.

Transfer
