Test and quiz requests must be submitted through Clockwork three business days before test day to be considered “on time.” Final Exam Requests must be submitted three weeks prior to final exam week.
Using ClockWork to schedule tests/quizzes
- Before requesting a test/exam, accommodation letter(s) need to be requested through ClockWork.
- Schedule all of test(s)/exam(s) as soon as you receive notice of test dates in class.
- On the ClockWork site, click the ‘Schedule a Test or Exam’ icon, then select the same option as a tab on the following page.
- Login using GRCC username and password.
- Follow each prompt as to fill out the Test Request form.
- Each page provides instructions

How DSS testing processes requests
- After receiving a new test request, DSS testing staff double checks the student information and places the student into a room on the schedule.
- DSS testing connects through email and Clockwork with the course instructor to obtain testing materials and proctoring instructions.
- Once testing materials and information have been submitted by the instructor, our team will update the testing appointment to "Booked."
How to view the status of your testing appointment
- Log into ClockWork.
- Select the "Schedule a test or exam" icon.
- Select "View my upcoming test/exams."
- This will show you all of your upcoming testing appointments, the start time and status of each testing appointment.
Expectations of Testing Day
- Bring only the materials that you need and have been approved by your instructor or your accommodations.
- Arrive at your Testing Appointment 5-10 minutes prior to your start time.
- You may put any items not needed for testing into a small locker prior to testing.
- Review allowable items and testing instructions that are provided in emails from DSS Testing during the test registration process.
Please ask our team for assistance before and during a test if you notice issues with your test or with your accommodation(s).
Rescheduling/updating a test/exam appointment
- Reschedule a test by emailing your professor and ‘CC’ DSS@grcc.edu to request a different date and time.
- We require instructor approval to reschedule a test/exam appointment.
- To edit or update a test/exam appointment, please call us with details and changes.
- The DSS Testing staff will update your original request accordingly.
- To cancel a test/exam appointment, mark it as ‘canceled’ in ClockWork.
- Cancel only if a class test is canceled or you would prefer to take it in class.
Late test requests
A request is late if submitted fewer than 3 business days prior to your scheduled test date.
- Late requests will be canceled, unless our team can accommodate you.
- DSS testing staff will assess our space available on our schedule and the feasibility of receiving testing materials on time.
- If our team can accommodate your late request, your appointment will be marked as "Booked" on ClockWork.
- Please check in about a late request as soon as you can, call us at (616) 234-3597.
- If our team is unable to accommodate your late request, you may test in class or reschedule by following the test rescheduling process from above.
Please Note, accommodations cannot be guaranteed without three business days' notice. Our team does not take responsibility for academic repercussions of a student testing without accommodations due to late requests.
