OSP Student Resources

We are so glad you are a part of our network!  Asking for more help can be tough but it is always worth it!  At Occupational Support, our goal is to help you uncover all of the resources than you may need to advance your academic or career goals or financial situation.  We know that going to college is tough work and it requires a lot of sacrifices of your time, energy, and money. 

We hope you will check out the following resources to help you make this easier for you!

Financial

Need More Money for School or Life Expenses? 

Here are some ideas you may not have thought about:

  • West Michigan Works - Support for job searching support, job search related workshops, and some education, transportation funding for students who are underemployed (less than full time) and enrolled in training in high demand, high wage careers.  
    • Associate Degrees - WIOA Grant
    • Certificates - MI-LEAP and WIOA Grants
    • First step:  Reach out to a local West Michigan Works office closest to you
  • One Workforce Grant - Offer financial and career support to students in Manufacturing courses
  • Occupational Support Financial Assistance Application - If you are a current OSP student, you may be eligible for financial assistance towards unpaid tuition, fees, or more. Child care, parking assistance, or bus passes may be available for eligible students who have Pell and aren’t getting any extra in refund. 
  • GRCC Emergency Grants - Complete the Emergency Intake Form for more support
  • CCAMPIS Grant - GRCC’s Early Childhood Learning Lab may have child care funding
  • Department of Health and Human Services is on GRCC’s campus!  Start by applying at the MI-Bridges Application. If you need assistance in applying please contact Heather Den Houter at (616) 234-4155.
  • Apply for Scholarships, even if you aren’t eligible for Federal Financial Aid
  • Get an On Campus Job through Student Employment
  • Consider getting a gig job through LABR.com (doesn’t require driving)
