Summer 2024 and Ongoing
Training Begins
- Canvas training kicked off during STLI, Aug. 13-16, 2024. Faculty Canvas Support Liaisons, TLDE, and IT Staff were onsite to help and will continue to offer training and support throughout the academic year.
Support
Faculty Canvas Liaisons will offer scheduled drop-in virtual and in-person support hours to assist with the transition.

- Online Hybrid Certification Course (OHCC): The OHCC will begin using Canvas in the Winter 2025.

Migration and Teaching
Fall 2024-Summer 2025
Course Migration Starts
- Beginning sometime in the fall 2024 semester, courses from Summer 2024 will begin migrating from Blackboard to Canvas on a rolling basis. This gradual process ensures everyone has time to adjust and get comfortable with the new platform.
- Winter 2025 Course Migration: Fall 2024 courses will migrate in late January 2025.
- Summer 2025 Course Migration: Winter 2025 courses will migrate in late May 2025.
Full Transition to Canvas
- All GRCC courses will fully transition to Canvas starting by Fall 2025. Summer 2025 course will migrate in late September 2025.
