GRCC Resources
GRCC has trained Navigators on campus and offers registration assistance for the state application process.
- Enroll in state benefit programs: Food Assistance Program (FAP/SNAP), Women, Infants, & Children (WIC), Child Development and Care (CDC), Healthcare Coverage, Cash Assistance, State Emergency Relief (SER)
- GRCC Navigators are available to help provide required college documentation.
- Learn more about the GRCC resources available to you.
- Please note that Navigators are different from your assigned case worker. Your case worker will be assigned through the state once you complete your initial application. If you have questions about your eligibility, please reach out to your case worker once they are assigned.

Food Assistance/SNAP Resources
Apply for the Food Assistance Program online at michigan.gov/mibridges or for help finding a food pantry. Assistance in applying for SNAP benefits or referrals to other resources, call the F.O.R. Helpline at 1-888-544-8773. For additional SNAP resources, please see below:

State Emergency Relief (SER) Program
Apply for the SER Program online at michigan.gov/mibridges:
- If your utilities have been disconnected, or you have a utility disconnect notice
- If you are experiencing housing instability, and/or need help covering housing-related costs,
- If you are struggling to cover mortgage, insurance, and/or property tax payments and are at risk forfeiture, foreclosure, or tax sale,
- If you have an unexpected home repair and need help covering the cost,
- If you need financial help covering burial costs
The SER program is primarily designed to maintain low-income households who are normally able to meet their needs but occasionally need help when unexpected emergency situations arise. The SER program is not an appropriate solution to ongoing or chronic financial difficulties.
Healthcare Coverage
Apply for healthcare coverage online at michigan.gov/mibridges:
You may be eligible for a healthcare program if any of the following situations apply to you or someone in your household:
- You do not have healthcare coverage.
- You already have health coverage and want to explore lower-cost or free coverage.
- You have children that need healthcare coverage.
- You are on a Medicare plan.
Cash Assistance Program
Apply for the Cash Assistance Program online at michigan.gov/mibridges:
You may be eligible if any of the following apply to you or someone in your household:
- You have a child in your household that is under the age of 18, or 18 years old and attending high school.
- You are pregnant or parents of a child in foster care who is expected to return home within one year from date of application.
- You are 65 or older, or permanently or temporarily disabled, or taking care of a person with a disability in your household.
- You are receiving disability benefits and have a child under the age of 18 in your household.
Women, Infants, & Children (WIC) Program
Apply for the WIC Program online at michigan.gov/mibridges:
You may be eligible if you or someone in your household is pregnant, breastfeeding, and/or have a child under the age of 5.
Child Development $ Care (CDC)
Apply for the CDC Program online at michigan.gov/mibridges:
You may be eligible if any of the following applies to you or someone in your household:
- You have a low income and struggle to cover household expenses and childcare.
- You need childcare while you are engaged in an approved activity, such as:
- Work.
- High school completion/GED classes.
- Adult basic education courses, such as English as a Second Language (ESL).
- You are a licensed foster parent requesting care for foster children.
- You are a member of a MDHHS protective services case participating in a treatment plan.
- You are participating in the Family Independence Program and have a required work activity.
