What is Radiologic Technology?
Radiologic Technology (RT) involves the use of x-ray imaging equipment. Radiographers perform radiologic procedures to assist doctors in diagnosing disease or injury. They may work in hospitals, outpatient facilities, and medical doctor's offices. Other names for this position include radiologic technologist and X-ray Technologist.
What are the employment projections?
Radiological technicians and technologists continue to be in demand. Demand is expected to grow from approximately 6,000 radiographers to approximately 8,000 by 2015. Supply is expected to hover around the 6,000 mark for most of this period. Some of the demand growth is likely to be for various advanced radiologic specialties including computed tomography (CT scans), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and mammography.

What is expected of Radiologic Technology students?
The RT curriculum is a demanding one. You must demonstrate that you are meeting the performance objectives for each course. You are expected to pay for you own textbooks, supplies, and uniforms. You must also provide your own transportation to and from clinical settings.
