Mathematics Scholarships

Theodora Quick Mathematics Scholarship

The scholarship will be awarded to a full-time GRCC student in any curriculum who expects to study mathematics through Calculus. Scholastic ability will be a priority in selection, and applicants will have maintained a 3.0 or better GPA. Click above to get the application.  The deadline for application is March 14.

William J. Sharon Teachers of Tomorrow Scholarship

This renewable scholarship was established to recognize the contributions William Sharon has made to the field of education in the State of Michigan. Recipients will have demonstrated academic excellence in the field of mathematics with the intention of teaching math at the high school or college level. Candidates must also complete a Teachers of Tomorrow Scholarship Essay.

Ronald J. Boelema Scholarship

This fund was established by Ronald J. Boelema to recognize deserving students who have demonstrated excellence in the study of mathematics or science at Grand Rapids Community College. Candidates must have a minimum 2.0 GPA and be enrolled on a full-time basis at GRCC. Click above to get the application.  The deadline for application is March 14.

Mathematics Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded annually to those GRCC students whose total scores on the two Student Mathematics League Exams are highest - no application is required. At least three scholarships will be awarded at the end of the winter semester, with the amount of each scholarship dependent on the scores of the participants and the number of awards. Students may be full-time or part-time and there is no minimum GPA requirement. No student who has already earned a degree in mathematics may be awarded this scholarship, and no student may be awarded this scholarship more than twice.
