Are you transferring to GRCC?
Make sure to:
- File your FAFSA at studentaid.gov.
- If you have already done so, check your FAFSA Submission Summary to ensure GRCC is listed.
- If GRCC is listed in your FAFSA, but not in the #1 position, you will need to call the state to have your school of choice updated to GRCC. The state can be reached at (888) 447-2687 during regular business hours.
- MI state aid programs require the school to verify high school graduation. Send a copy of your HS diploma or its equivalent to the GRCC Financial Aid Office by email or digital upload in the Online Center.
- If you do not have an associate’s degree or higher, and are at least 21 years old make sure to apply for Reconnect. You can apply for MI Reconnect if you turn 21 prior to Nov. 15, 2024. After that date, the age requirement reverts back to the original 25 years old and up criterion. Apply for MI Reconnect here.
- Different state aid programs require specific enrollment intensity to be eligible to receive said aid. The Tuition Incentive Program and the Michigan Competitive Scholarship alike, require a minimum of six credits per semester to be awarded either aid type. The Community College Guarantee (the newly rebranded Michigan Achievement Scholarship) requires a minimum of 12 credits for that aid to be awarded.
- There are a number of other Department of Admissions-based aspects associated with transferring to GRCC. Please check out Admissions and Student Services and the Transfer Center.
