Job Training Refunds & Disbursements

Financial aid for the Job Training Programs is prorated based on the clock hours and weeks of the program as compared to the clock hours and weeks in the definition of the academic year. Financial aid for all Job Training Programs is disbursed in two disbursements:

18-week programs

Disbursement 1:  Within the first 30 days of the student’s start date, the first half of the student’s financial aid award is eligible for disbursement. All financial aid funds are credited to the student’s GRCC account.

Disbursement 2: The second half of the student’s financial aid award is eligible for disbursement when the student meets all of the following criteria:

  • The student must be enrolled.
  • The student must have successfully completed 90% of the required class hours at Week 9.
  • The student must have completed 35% of the course objectives.

If a student’s financial aid exceeds the tuition and fee charges for the disbursement period, he or she will receive a financial aid refund. Refunds are processed through BankMobile Disbursements, a technology solution, powered by BMTX, Inc. weekly.

22-week programs

Disbursement 1: Within the first 30 days of the student’s start date, the first half of the student’s financial aid award is eligible for disbursement. All financial aid funds are credited to the student’s GRCC account.

Withdrawal & Return of Title IV Funds Policy - Calculating How Much Financial Aid is Earned

For Students in Job Training (Clock Hour) Programs

When a financial aid recipient withdraws or ceases to attend at least half-time, the College is required to complete a Return to Title IV Funds (R2T4) calculation. This calculation determines the amount of aid the student has earned based on his or her clock hour attendance compared to the scheduled clock hours in the payment period, defined as half the program. This calculation is in addition to the withdrawal refund policy application. When the R2T4 calculation requires the College to return Title IV funds, the funds are returned from the student’s account and he or she may owe a balance to the College. The complete R2T4 policy can be found on the GRCC Financial Aid website.
