You will need to submit a Financial Aid Appeal if you did:
- Not successfully complete at least 67% of all attempted credit course with passing grades, even if financial aid was not used previously.
- Not maintain an acceptable grade point average (GPS):
- 1.50 GPA is required for 1-14 attempted credits
- 1.75 GPA is required for 15-28 attempted credits
- 2.00 GPA is required for 29 or more attempted credits
- Not complete your degree or certificate with 150% of its published program length. (Refer to the GRCC Catalog to find the number of credits required for your program. Multiply that number by 1.5 to determine the maximum number of credits allowed.)
Directions to SUBMIT the Financial Aid Suspension Appeal form
If you have a FAFSA on file
If you have a FAFSA on file, you must go to www.grcc.studentforms.com to submit your appeal.
- You will put in your GRCC user name and password to login to StudentForms.
- If you have a FAFSA on file, you will need create an account. You will need your name, date of birth and social security number that matches the FAFSA. You must use your GRCC email address for this account.
- Once you’ve created an account, click on manage requests.
- Click on the corresponding award year and choose SAP Appeal
- You will be presented with a box to explain your reason for this request. Please explain the reasons for being on Standards of Academic Progress.
- Once that is complete press SUBMIT
- It will say “Your request has been successfully created!”
- Press OK
- You will be directed to a “Needs Action Box” labeled 20XX-20XX SAP Appeal.
- Click on TASK on left bottom of screen.
- This will take you to the SAP Appeal form. Click on FILL OUT web form.
- At this time, you will be presented with a form and you will need to go into detail explaining your reasons for being on Financial Aid Suspension.
- Click to upload supporting documents.
- Press CONTINUE
- Then create an ESIGN PIN by putting in your name, social security number and a 5-digit PIN.
- Now you can ESIGN your document at the bottom left of the form. Put in the 5-digit PIN you created.
- Once you have successfully completed that task, you can upload your supporting documents in PNG, JPEG, BMP, PDF formats.
- Once they are uploaded, click SUBMIT and FINISH.
If you do not have a FAFSA on file
If you do not have a FAFSA on file, you will need to submit your FAFSA first. Once we have a verified FAFSA on file, you will then be able follow the instructions listed above. We are not able to process an appeal without a FAFSA.
