Monthly Checklist
Editors need to review their department pages every month to make sure content stays sharp. Here are some key things to consider.
- Review: Review the Web editor reminders for this month.
- Check: Open all your pages.
- Check your hours.
- Check faculty and staff at the bottom of your department homepage.
- Test all the links. (Tip: Control + Click opens in a new tab)
- Check: Open all your pages.
- Simplify: Find one way to simplify the user experience and reduce the word count, in the spirit of continuous improvement!
- "Eliminate needless words:" The most accessible and impactful pages are concise.
- Have a large block of text? Chances are that most users are skimming or skipping it entirely.
- Don’t be afraid to ask “Do we even need this content?”
- We can help you rethink or rewrite content.
- Is there a page with very little content that ought to just be a section on another page?
