Position is located at the Oakdale Neighbors Learning Café which is located at 1803 Kalamazoo SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49507.
This position will allow you to make a difference in the lives of children in the 49507 zip code. It can used as a resume builder post graduation, as well as a way to gain tremendous leadership skills in the nonprofit sector.
● Tutor individual or group students daily on Math and Reading
● Assess new students reading level using the Leveled Literacy Intervention assessment forms
● Monitor students progress in both subjects
● Mentor assigned students through tutoring interactions
● Create account on Khan Academy to enroll new students and complete math work
● Group interview other incoming tutors
● Assist with develop of current and future program improvements
● Contribute to wholistic Summer Enrichment Program
● Promote both student tutees and adult tutor opportunities
● Be enrolled at GRCC in at least 6 credits for fall & winter semester.
● Work 4-6pm for a total of 8 hours per week.
