General FAQs

How do I create an Online Center Account?

Visit the Online Center and request a login. Please contact the Enrollment Center for more information.

I've forgotten my password. How do I get it reset?

Contact the Student Technology Help Desk at (616) 234-4357.

How do I change my legal name?

A student can either upload the following documents through their Online Center by navigating to the Academic Records tile and click “Send files to Student Records” or email it to studentrecords@grcc.edu.  If emailing information, the student will need to let Student Records know the name they’re currently under in GRCC records and their student ID number. The document(s) a student must provide is one of the following: (1) real driver’s license (star in upper right corner); (2) real state ID (star in upper right corner); (3) passport, or (4) residency card. If the student does not have a “real ID” the following paperwork must be provided depending the on the name change: (1) marriage license; (2) divorce decree (page 1, name change page, and judge’s signature page); or court documents.

GRCC employees and student employees must go through Human Resources.

What do I need to add my social security number to my student record?

If you would like to add your social security number to your student record (for example, if you are seeking financial aid), please submit your signed social security card and a government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, passport, or residency card) securely through your Online Center.  Navigate to the Academic Records tile, click “Send files to Student Records.”

How do I change my home address, mailing address, email address, or phone number?

Through your Online Center, navigate to the Profile tile and select the tab with the information that you wish to change.  Edit/Add where appropriate.  NOTE:  If you are changing your address, consult the Student Financial Services Office to determine how it affects your “residency” information.
