External Job Posting Policy

It is the goal of Student Employment Services at Grand Rapids Community College to prepare students and alumni to be productive members of the workforce by providing the opportunity to gain knowledge, skills, and experiences that will benefit them in their employment endeavors.  Our services include resume, cover letter, interviewing and networking assistance, student and supervisor training, in addition to both on and off campus job postings.

Grand Rapids Community College provides meaningful job opportunities which will benefit our students and alumni and will assist them in achieving their educational and employment goals. Though we understand that quality opportunities may be available anywhere in the world, our emphasis is on regional employers (Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin, Illinois, & Ohio), expanding further depending on the employer and nature of the positions and how they relate to the education offered by Grand Rapids Community College.

GRCC’s Student Employment Services department does not post positions that require a fee payment or investment prior to employment (i.e. entrepreneurial employers).  Student Employment Services defines entrepreneurial employers as those organizations that require the job seeker to make an initial investment or fee payment as a condition of employment.  Entrepreneurial employers also include those organizations that provide financial incentives to staff who recruit new hires for which the recruiting staff member receives a portion of the new hire’s commission.  Furthermore, entrepreneurial employers will not be provided with any online or on-campus recruiting services through Student Employment Services at Grand Rapids Community College.

Student Employment Services will not post positions in private homes or with private individuals.

Grand Rapids Community College offers job postings as a convenience to job seekers. We do not screen all postings for legitimacy or safety.   Job seekers must use their judgment when applying, interviewing and accepting positions. If you believe that a job posted at GRCC is inappropriate or unsafe, inform us immediately via an e-mail to ses@grcc.edu.
