GRCC offers English as a Second Language classes for students whose native language is not English.
Each class is four academic credits, and four contact hours, allowing students to take a full-time schedule if they take up to three ESL classes at a time.
These classes will help students improve their English so that they can be more successful in college, at work and in the community.
Classes are offered at four levels. Students are required to take the Levels of English Proficiency (LOEP) Test before they register for classes so they can be placed into the correct level. The test includes listening and speaking, writing and grammar and reading and vocabulary.
