This GRCC Job Training program will prepare you for an entry level position in production welding, fabrication, and the skilled trades. These positions typically pay between $12 and $16 per hour.
As a production welder, your job may include basic duties such as cutting, brazing and welding of various metal components. It may also include more advanced duties such as MIG and TIG welding using aluminum and stainless steel.
In this program you will learn:
- Metallurgy.
- American Welding Quality Standards.
- Welding equipment maintenance.
- Blueprint reading.
- Basic shop math.
- Measurement tool use.
- Current welding terminology.
Ten credits from this program may be applied to a Welding Technology Associate Degree if you decide to continue your education and advance in your career.
