Editorial Resources

Our college's Design and identity Center is your go-to resource for technical help, including information on how to upload videos or photos to your webpage, create content changes and style your content in the manner most appropriate for your needs. This guide is also where you will find our publishing policies surrounding web authoring for our website and social media platforms.

The following editorial resources are used by the college to promote the accessibility, accuracy and inclusivity of our web content:

  • The Associated Press Stylebook is intended to promote guidelines that standardize English grammar and punctuation for consistency and accuracy in mass communication.

  • The Disability Language Style Guide is a reference for accurate and appropriate language when writing about or discussing people with disabilities.

  • The Guidelines for Gender-Fair Use of Language was published by the National Council of Teachers of English Guidelines for writing and speaking for inclusivity.

  • The The National Lesbian and Gay Journalists' Association (NLGJA) Stylebook is complimentary to the AP Stylebook and includes commonly used phrases and wording that are inclusive of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities.

  • Following the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, authored by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), is essential for our college. It is the official resource for ensuring our website is inclusive and supports the Americans with Disabilities Act by adhering to guidelines that make our content accessible for everyone.
