Intersection and Inclusivity

When: Wednesday, March 13

Where: SCC 234

Instructor: Jamillya Hardley

During this session, we will discuss the theory of intersectionality and it impacts the GRCC community. We will explore your personal social and professional intersecting identities and offer tips on how to engage in conversations surrounding the topic. The goal is to expand foundational understanding of intersectionality and grow together as a GRCC community.

Identify Implicit Bias

When: Thursday, May 9

Where: LRC 123

Instructor: Jamillya Hardley

This interactive session will cover the foundations of implicit and explicit bias. We all have implicit bias, while it is impossible to do away with our own biases as humans, We should aim to become aware of what our biases are and reduce the impact they can have in our work spaces, academic environments, and our daily lives. Awareness, coupled with action, will generate more accepting and inclusive places for all. **Pre workshop activity - IAT Harvard Implicit Bias test (must take RACE, GENDER, DISABILTY, AGE,SEXUALITY IAT tests)
