Dual Enrollment Tuition, Billing and Textbook Information

Tuition billing and payment information

All students are accountable for college policies, including attendance requirements, payment deadlines and progress expectations. Once enrolled in classes, GRCC holds you responsible for the tuition. This applies to students who do not meet instructor’s attendance expectations (dropped for non- attendance), students who drop the class beyond the refund deadline date for that class, and for students. who owe tuition and fees because their high school or the State of Michigan does not cover the full tuition and fees amount.

Please Note: If you are a home school student that will be going through a home school partnership, please inform the GRCC High School Partnership Office. The office can be reached by phone (616)-234-3007 or dualenrollment@grcc.edu

Public School Students

It is important that you meet with your high school counselor before you enroll in classes to be sure your course selection(s) meet high school approval guidelines and to ensure that the high school is paying for some or all the tuition and fees. If the high school is not covering all the cost, it will be your responsibility to pay any remaining cost.

Courses are billed by the contact hour, not the credit hour. This is important because some classes may be only 3 credits, but up to 6 contact hours. The school will pay the same amount no matter how many contact hours the class is and with a 4, 5 or 6 contact hour class, the tuition will be higher than that amount, which means there will be tuition owed by the student/family. Tuition amounts are also based on if the student lives in district or out of district. An in-district student lives in the College’s Tax District, in almost all instances align with the Kent Intermediate School District. If you live out of district, the tuition cost will be higher, and you will be more likely to owe a portion of the tuition and fees.

Please check with us or your high school counselor / dual enrollment coordinator to find out if you will owe any portion of the tuition and fees. We don’t want anyone to be “surprised” by a bill half-way through the semester. We can be reached through email: dualenrollment@grcc.edu, or by phone (616) 234-3007.

Non-Public School Students

If the State of Michigan is not paying for the full tuition and fees, it will be your responsibility to pay any remaining cost.

If your high school approves your classes, tuition and fees will be billed to the State of Michigan. The State of Michigan pays a specific amount per course and if the tuition and fees is higher than that amount, it will be your responsibility to pay any remaining cost.

Self-Paid (Home School) Students
