Leader positions and responsibilities 

President

Brayden Smith, President

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the general direction of CAB and serve as the primary spokesperson of the organization.
  • Ensure CAB creates and implements various events throughout the year including but not limited to Welcome Week, Finals Relaxer, Homecoming, and Student Leadership Awards Ceremony.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and facilitate all biweekly Executive Board meetings and General Meetings and create the agenda for all meetings with some additions from the CAB Advisor.
  • Ensure that the event checklist, including packed materials, is marked off for each event by the proposed deadlines.
  • Attend all meetings with external agents or send another Executive Board member to represent, if necessary.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with the GRCC community including other student organizations, students, staff, and faculty.
  • Consider ways CAB can collaborate with other student organizations and departments to help build a more cohesive campus community.
  • Serve on various special purpose committees as they arise
  • Assist the CAB Advisor, Assistant Director of Student Life and Conduct, and the President of Student Government in planning the annual spring Student Leadership Awards Ceremony.
  • Understand and uphold the CAB Constitution.
  • Lead a review of the CAB constitution every summer.
  • In conjunction with the CAB Advisor, ensure accountability of CAB members to meet programming deadlines

Vice President of Special Events

Susy Chavez, Vice President of Special Events

Responsibilities:

  • Provide new ideas of events and programs that CAB can implement throughout the year by doing research and gathering data on what students are looking for and/or what other institutions are doing.
  • Evaluate and determine ways to improve all CAB events
  • Submit the Amplified Sound Request Form, Event Registrations Form, Lawn Game and Equipment Rental, Purchasing Permission Form, Room Requests Form (including layouts), and Technology Requests for all CAB events & tablings where it is necessary
  • Ensure CAB hosts at least two school spirit types of events on campus per fall/winter semester and one during the summer
  • Organize and host promotional tabling opportunities for events that may need it (e.g. Studio Park Movie Outing that needs an RSVP)
  • Facilitate the weekly CAB meetings in the absence of the President

Vice President of Operations

Joe Vaalburg, Vice President of Operations

  • Creates and maintains the budget for CAB, including collecting invoices from all events and submitting the content via RaiderConnect forms
  • Works with the CAB executive board to create an estimated operational budget at the beginning of the year
  • Maintains the CAB general fund account in collaboration with the Student Life and Conduct Office Manager
  • Creates a weekly CAB financial report and informs the Executive Board of all updates during the weekly CAB meeting
  • Submits the Food Requests and Check Requests/Reimbursement Forms for any necessary CAB event on Raider Connect
  • Responsible for creating all event Amazon wish lists once an event is decided on, shares the list with all of CAB for feedback and then submits the request for purchase to the Student Life and Conduct Office Manager

Vice President of Recruitment and Retention

Destiny Stevens, Vice President of Recruitment and Retention

  • Responsible for recruitment and retention for CAB members
  • Maintain an accurate membership directory for CAB on Raider Connect
  • Create a volunteer sign-up sheet for all CAB events and find volunteers for campus events as needed
  • Ensure all volunteers are feeling welcomed and engaged
  • Gathers the attendance of all CAB events and records attendance in the CAB shared drive
  • Responsible for submitting a Raider Card Reader Request Form on Raider Connect for appropriate events and bringing the card reader to the event
  • Gather and bring necessary materials for recruitment including, signup sheets, business cards, CAB promotional pamphlets to all CAB events
  • Responsible for bringing and completing the Prize Receipt Binder at events for when students receive large prizes, including making a digital copy in the CAB drive of the documents on a regular basis.
  • Host two recruitment and retention events per year.
  • Take attendance and minutes for all meetings
  • Distribute and file the minutes of all CAB meetings no later than two days after the meeting occurred.

Vice President of Communications

Victoria Biadala, Vice President of Communications

Responsibilities:

  • Actively promotes awareness of CAB to the GRCC community through social media, printed posters, chalking, newsletters, tabling, etc.
  • Maintains a professional and engaging CAB social media and online presence.
  • Creates graphics for social media for events that do not utilize the GRCC Communications Department for designs.
  • Posts on and updates all social media and advertising for all CAB events.
  • Work with the GRCC Communications Department and the Office of Student Life and Conduct to advertise and promote CAB events.
  • Takes pictures during CAB events and maintains photos in the CAB shared drive.
  • Send out the news notifications on the RaiderConnect calendar for all created events.
  • Creates a monthly CAB event calendar to be shared with the campus community.
  • Works with the webmaster of Student Life and Conduct to maintain the CAB webpage with current information and events.
  • Responsible for submitting the event graphics to ePrint or print them out yourself and get them approved by Student Life & Conduct and hung on bulletin boards.
  • Researches, collects and implements new and creative ideas for the promotion of all CAB events
  • Manages text communications with CAB volunteers and communicates upcoming events regularly
