I have taught chemistry at GRCC since 1999. My Bachelor’s degree is in Biochemistry from the University of Michigan and my Master’s degree is in Physical Chemistry from Wayne State University. My research interests have been a mixture of physical and biochemical applications focused on working with faculty at other institutions on& RNA sequencing and protein modeling. I have worked with local companies and other institutions on various research projects over the years, and I am always looking for opportunities to learn new ideas that I can incorporate into my lectures and labs. I believe chemistry truly helps us understand the complex world around us. Therefore, I enjoy helping students to discover the beauty of the molecular world and how these small structures relate to our everyday lives. When I am not working, I enjoy running, biking, and hiking. I grew up in Indiana and the east side of Michigan, but I am happy to be on the west side now!
