Tim Heldt is a professor of audio recording technology at GRCC and has been with GRCC since 2002. His undergraduate studies at Grand Rapids Community College included study in electronics and an associate degree in music education. He received a bachelor's degree in music education from Western Michigan University majoring while also completing a major in communications with an emphasis in audio recording. He was a full-time chief engineer at a mid-western recording studio for twenty-three years while also teaching audio recording part-time. He earned a masters degree in educational technology from Boise State University, and maintains AVID certified Pro Tools instructor certification.
