Teaching is a family thing. Having been heavily influenced by my dad, I followed in his footsteps and attended Michigan State University for a B.A. in English and a teaching certificate. I completed my first M.A. in Education and Curriculum in 2000 from Michigan State University and followed with a second Masters in Humanities from Central Michigan University in 2008. I currently teach high school English at Innovation Central for Grand Rapids Public Schools. I have been with GRCC since 2003, starting as a summer instructor for their Upward Bound program and later becoming an adjunct instructor. When I'm not spending time with my family and friends, I enjoy reading and am quite the film aficionado. My family is very international, having siblings on two other continents, and we enjoy quiet gatherings on the lake at my sister's cottage.
