Salvador Lopez was elected to the GRCC board of trustees on Nov. 8, 2022 for a term that runs from Jan. 1, 2023 to Dec. 31, 2028.
Trustee Lopez is president of KConnect. He is dedicated to addressing racial disparities within the community; “To bridge the racial inequities in our communities, which include social, income, and documentation, there must be a systems-level change.”
Trustee Lopez holds a master’s degree in communications and a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Latin American studies from Grand Valley State University.
He is also chairman of the Board of Advocates for Latino Student Advancement in Michigan Education (Alsame), a non-profit organization committed to making college education a reality for Latino students in Michigan.
