Julie Blaszak joined the college in October 2022 as the Grants and Contracts Specialist. Julie has over 20 years of experience in higher education, including decades-long tenure as Assistant Director of Residence Life at Ohio Wesleyan University and Director of Residence Life at Aquinas College. She also has higher education experience in service-learning programs, academic advising, college teaching, and leadership development. Continuing her passion for higher education while moving into the world of grants, she then served as Program Director for AdviseMI, a statewide AmeriCorps grant focused on providing college advising to high school students in communities with low college-going rates.
In her role as GRCC’s Grants and Contracts Specialist, her responsibilities center on grant-seeking/grant development and grant management, along with overseeing the GRCC Foundation’s two internal grant programs for staff and faculty professional development. Blaszak earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Michigan and Master of Arts in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University. She also completed a Certificate in Grant Writing through Seattle Central College.
