Dr. Hannah Macgillivray is a dynamic bassist and educator, holding a Bachelor of Music Performance degree from the University of Calgary, along with a Master of Music, and Doctor of Musical Arts, both from Texas Tech University. Hannah has demonstrated her versatility by gracing the stages with orchestras, jazz groups, tango ensembles, opera productions, various musical theater shows and more. Presently, she holds section positions with the Amarillo Symphony (on leave) and the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra.
A dedicated teacher, Dr. Macgillivray maintains a thriving private studio where she encourages curiosity and collaboration. Drawing from her previous teaching positions at Amarillo College and Texas Tech University, Hannah creates a learning environment for students to explore their unique musical interests while developing essential skills that will serve them throughout their musical journey.
