Dr. Hannah Macgillivray is a bassist and educator who has been teaching and performing throughout the US and Canada for over a decade. Hannah received her Bachelor of Music in Performance from the University of Calgary, followed by her Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from Texas Tech University.
Hannah has performed with numerous ensembles spanning classical, jazz, and contemporary genres. She has spent her recent summers performing with the Utah Festival Opera & Musical Theater, and currently holds a section position with the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra, while keeping an active freelance calendar.
Through her teaching, Hannah creates an environment that encourages curiosity and collaboration while building fundamental skills that serve students throughout their musical journeys.
