Constructional Electrical Apprenticeship students show off skills in competition

Students in the fourth year of GRCC’s Construction Electrical Apprenticeship Program took part in an electrical craft competition, held last week in partnership with Associated Builders and Contractors-West Michigan at Tassell M-TEC.

The students took a pre-test in their regularly scheduled class and those with the top six scores took another written test and then performed an installation that was judged by industry professionals. The winner qualifies for the national Electrical Craft Competition, held in March in Long Beach, Calif.

Congratulations to:

  • 1st place – Kurtis Bolt, of Buist Electric.
  • 2nd place – Kevan Chapman, of HighPoint Electric.
  • 3rd place – Craig Eby, of Parkway Electric & Communications.
