Campus Building Hours

GRCC utilizes an electronic door security system to enhance the safety and security for the campus community. The door access control system electronically controls the “unlock” and “lock” functions for all exterior doors.

To further enhance evening safety and security for students and employees, we are proposing to standardize “open” hours for classroom buildings and expand utilization of our access control system to credential students for evening access.  

Building schedules have been developed based on the following:  

• Early AM and late PM safety and security for students and faculty is first priority. 
• Classroom buildings open at 7 a.m., or 30 minutes prior to the first scheduled class.
• Classroom buildings secure at 7 p.m.
• Classroom building(s) will remain secure on Saturday and students will be credentialed by class.
• Weekend hours are scheduled as needed for fieldhouse and special events.
• Exceptions for special events and activities can be scheduled by contacting GRCC Police Dispatch. 
• Students are credentialed each semester for evening access through the general student access plan.
• Employees already have evening access through the general employee access plan.
