Junior Giants Awards
Junior Giants Cedric Ward Leadership Scholarship - This scholarship is awarded to a senior student in the Kent Intermediate School District.
Junior Giants Dr. Patricia Pulliam Leadership Scholarship - This scholarship is awarded to a current college student.
The scholarships are named in honor of the founders of the GIANTS, Dr. Patricia Pulliam and Mr. Cedric Ward. The scholarships are awarded to students of African American Heritage who are nominated and demonstrate the essence of a Junior Giant: Demonstrated Leadership Profile, Community Involvement and Impact, Academic and/or Athletic Accomplishments, Academic Achievement/Academic Progress.

Scholarship Award Details
- Scholarships are awarded to students that represent historically underserved and underrepresented communities.
- The nominee must attend a Kent Intermediate School District or be a current college student.
- The Giant Awards Committee will make the final selection of award recipients.
- Transcript or school contact information required.
- Each recipient will receive a $1000 scholarship to a college/technical school of their choice.
Junior GIANT Scholarship Nomination
Milo M. Brown Scholarship
The Milo M. Brown Scholarship awards $1,000 to two or three students each year. The scholarships are presented as a perpetual memorial to Mr. Brown during the GIANT Awards and Banquet.
Scholarship Award Details
- You must be enrolled with full-time status (12+ credits) for the fall and/or winter semesters.
- You must have achieved a minimum of a 2.75 grade point average.
- You must have earned 24 credits prior to submitting the application.
- Award recipients will be students of African American heritage.
