GRCC had 52 student-athletes earn academic awards from the Michigan Community College Athletic Association.
Of those 52 students, 42 were named All-MCCAA, and five GRCC teams — golf, women’s basketball, softball, volleyball and women’s cross country — were honored as Academic All-MCCAA Teams.
GRCC had the second-highest number of teams named Academic All-MCCAA, which goes to teams that have earned a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.0. Mott Community College had six teams receive the designation.
GRCC’s volleyball team had the third-highest GPA — 3.45 — out of all MCCAA teams, just behind Macomb Community College’s men’s cross country and Mott volleyball.
The GRCC softball team was 10th overall with a 3.33 GPA. The GRCC golf and women’s cross country teams each had a 3.16 GPA. GRCC’s women’s basketball received a 3.09 GPA. These teams were also selected as 2017-2018 NJCAA All-Academic Teams.
