Excellence in Education Award Nomination Form

Nominee eligibility

A colleague is eligible to be nominated if they:

  • Have been employed in good standing at GRCC for at least five years.
  • Have never received the award previously. See past award recipients.

The nomination deadline has been extended to Friday, April 12, 2024.

Confidentiality is key! 

All nominations are submitted without the nominee’s knowledge. Please emphasize confidentiality when obtaining and requesting comments from nominators and endorsement signatures.

How to nominate a colleague

  • Make a copy of this Google Document Template
  • Collaboration with co-nominator(s) is encouraged.
  • Complete and submit the nomination form below. The nominator may include up to two co-nominators.
  • One endorsement signature is required. 
  • Upload completed nomination form and complete the webpage form.

Please provide content that speaks to each of the following qualities of this nominee as an employee.

Note: The entire nomination must be no more than a maximum of 1,000 words.

Distinction (for Staff)

Share a brief statement of the ways this exemplary staff member goes above and beyond, shows care and compassion, acts as a champion of GRCC, and brings the best of themselves to the work that they do.

Teaching (for Faculty & Adjunct)

Provide examples that demonstrate how this exemplary faculty or adjunct nominee implements innovative ideas, activities, projects, assessment methods, or lecture style in their teaching. 

Student & Employee Service

Ways in which the nominee serves the needs of the GRCC community including students and/or employees, within their department and/or college-wide (e.g. leader of a student organization, advising a student, providing resources to students, committees around student success)

College Service & Engagement

Examples of service to the College. This could include serving on committees, departmental activities, and/or service, presentations, on campus volunteering, etc.

Professional Development

Ways in which the nominee continues to grow by developing skills and knowledge to enhance their professional and personal experience, that ultimately benefits those around them.

Community Service

Ways in which the nominee serves the community in the spirit of the College’s mission, vision, and values.
