Office of Accessibility

A group of students talking.

Developed in 2013, the GRCC Department of Accessibility was created to monitor and ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (1992) as amended and the Rehabilitation Act (1973) as amended. While evaluating campus wide compliance and accessibility for both physical and virtual environments, the Department of Accessibility also informs policy and procedural development with hopes of creating a more accessible, equitable and inclusive culture.

The GRCC Department of Accessibility is dedicated to providing faculty, staff, and students of all abilities, equal access to the functions and facilities of Grand Rapids Community College. We are committed to providing services and accommodations to achieve equal opportunity to personal, professional and academically rewarding experiences by offering reasonable accommodations, auxiliary aids, support services and programs designed to remove barriers to full participation in campus life.

To remove social, academic and environmental barriers that impede access for campus community members of all abilities.
