GRCC is represented in six of the eight categories for the 2018 MCCAA Western Conference volleyball awards!
Kendra DeJonge: Player of the Year, All-Region/All-MCCAA, First Team All-Conference.
DeJonge, a sophomore outside hitter, has started and played in every match this season. She looks to be an NJCAA All-American contender with a .223 hitting percentage with 462 total kills, which places her 12th in the nation. She also averages 4.78 points per set, which places her 15th in the nation.
Kayla Salyer: First Team All-Conference.
Salyer, a sophomore middle blocker, has played and started in 29 matches for the Raiders this season. She has 72 total blocks this season and averages .83 blocks per set. She also hit a .258 so far this season with 144 total kills.
Ally German: First Team All-Conference.
German, a sophomore middle blocker, has played in 25 matches for the Raiders this season. She has a .286 hitting percentage and has 56 total blocks this season. Her season kill high was against Lincoln Land Community College, where she had 10 kills and hit .409.
Danielle Johnston: First Team All-Conference, All Freshman Team.
Johnston, a freshmen outside/right side hitter, has played in every match this season. She averages 3 points per set with a hitting percentage of .192. Her season-high was against Glen Oaks Community College, when she had 16 kills.
Autumn Severn: Second Team All-Conference
Severn, a sophomore setter, has started in every match this season. She averages 7.45 assists per set, and her season opener against Glen Oaks was her season high with 49.
Breanna Wickerink: Second Team All-Conference.
Wickerink, a freshmen middle blocker and right side hitter, has missed only one game this season and has started in 26. She averages 2.38 points per set and 2.14 kills per set with a hitting percentage of .214. Her season kill high was this past weekend in the semifinal match against Muskegon Community College, when she had 15 kills and an over hitting percentage of .314.
Kelsie Schultz: Honorable Mention All-Conference.
Schultz, a sophomore defensive specialist , has played in 33 matches this season and 92 sets overall. She has averaged 3.61 digs per set and 332 total digs so far this season. Her season high was against Muskego, when she saved 29 attacks and played in all 5 sets.
The No. 11 ranked Raiders travel to the 2018 NJCAA Division II Volleyball Championship, which starts Nov. 15 in Charleston, W.Va.
