Scoring Criteria

The Service Learning Curriculum Integration Plan will be reviewed using three (3) criteria (not equally weighted):

  • Originality (20%) How unique or novel is this idea?
  • Feasibility (30%) How likely is it that your team can implement this idea?
  • Alignment (50%) How directly does this idea impact the following:
  1. students understanding of course content
  2. students acquisition of communication, critical thinking, social or personal responsibility skills
  3. faculty teaching and learning practices
  4. community partner capacity (the extent to which needs were met and goals achieved)
  5. demonstration of how the service learning project will be sustained

 

Each team will demonstrate progress towards their outcomes no later than Friday, February 27, 2015.  

 

Teams will submit their Final Outcome Report no later than Friday, April 10, 2015 to the Armen Awards Team for the judges to determine the first, second, and third place teams.

The Final Outcome Report will be scored using the criteria from Round 1 as well as three additional weighted criteria:

  • Presentation (5%) Quality of the service learning project materials submitted
  • Collaboration (45%) Demonstration of teamwork to achieve impact
  • Impact (50%) Evidence of positive impact for students, faculty, and community partner
  • students understanding of course content
  • students acquisition of communication, critical thinking, social or personal responsibility skills
  • faculty teaching and learning practices
  • community partner capacity (the extent to which needs were met and goals achieved)
  • demonstration of how the service learning project will be sustained

Final Awards

All teams and Top 3 winning teams will be recognized at the Armen Awards Celebration event on Friday, April 24, 2015.
