Change of Academic Program (Major) Form

If your declared academic program (major) is inaccurate or you have made the decision to follow a different program plan, this is the form for you! If you are unsure of your declared academic program (major), log into the Online Student Center to determine if a change is needed. To find out if a change of academic program (major) will be appropriate, please speak with an advisor or counselor or use MyDegree Path.

Fill out the form below completely, taking into consideration the following important information:

  • Students cannot select an academic program that has already been or will be awarded from GRCC.
  • If a student selects his/her current declared academic program (major) as indicated on the online student center, this submission will be considered a change of catalog year.
  • Changing a declared academic program (major) can have an impact on catalog year, per the Catalog Year Policy. For more information, please visit the Catalog Year Information webpage.
  • Students with financial aid should contact the Financial Aid Office at (616) 234-4030 prior to changing their academic program (major) to determine if there will be any impact on current or future financial aid.
  • Any student changing to or from a Health program must do so in writing through the Health Admissions Office. More information may be found online at http://www.grcc.edu/healthprograms.
  • If the program desired is not available in the academic program (major) options, contact the appropriate department for more information.
  • Students who are currently listed as non-degree seeking must submit this form to become degree-seeking and will be contacted for additional information.

Personal Information

Non-Degree Seeking - Student plans to take classes with no intention to pursue a certificate, degree or credit transfer. Non-Degree seeking students are not eligible for financial aid.

Degree Seeking - Student plans to take classes to complete a certificate, degree, and/or transfer credits to another college or university.

If you choose an academic program that you have already completed at GRCC, this submission cannot be processed. For more information about the academic programs currently offered at GRCC, please see the GRCC Course Catalog.

Be Advised: If you have received or will be graduating in an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree from GRCC, an academic program from this list will not be a valid selection and this submission will not be processed.

Be Advised: If you have received or will be graduating in an Associate of Science degree from GRCC, an academic program from this list will not be a valid selection and this submission will not be processed.

Be Advised: If you have received or will be graduating in a degree in Child Development (180 or 634) from GRCC, this academic program is not a valid selection and your submission will not be processed.

Be Advised: If you have received or will be graduating in a degree in Child Development (120 or 180) from GRCC, this is not a valid selection and your submission will not be processed.

Be Advised: If you have received or will be graduating in a degree in Child Development (120 or 634) from GRCC, this is not a valid selection and your submission will not be processed.

Be Advised: If you have received or will be graduating in a degree in Plastics-Polymer Engineering Technology (798 or 935) from GRCC, this is not a valid selection and your submission will not be processed.

Be Advised: If you have received or will be graduating in a degree in Plastics-Polymer Engineering Technology (797 or 935) from GRCC, this is not a valid selection and your submission will not be processed.

Be Advised: If you have received or will be graduating in a degree in Plastics-Polymer Engineering Technology (797 or 798) from GRCC, this is not a valid selection and your submission will not be processed.

Be Advised: If you have received or will be graduating with an associate degree from GRCC, the Associate of General Studies is not a valid selection and this submission will not be processed.

This option is not intended to update a student's catalog year. Instead, it is to help students gain proper advising by keeping his/her academic focus updated.

Be Advised: If you do not have the Associate of Arts academic program (007) declared, selecting from the below list will be considered a change of academic program (major) and your graduation requirements may be impacted.

Be Advised: If you do not have the Electronics Engineering Technology program (906) declared, selecting from the below list will be considered a change of academic program (major) and your graduation requirements may be impacted.

Be Advised: If you do not have the Culinary Arts program (151) declared, selecting from the below list will be considered a change of academic program (major) and your graduation requirements may be impacted.

Be Advised: If you do not have the Associate of Music program (220) declared, selecting from the below list will be considered a change of academic program (major) and your graduation requirements may be impacted.

Be Advised: By selecting this option, your declared academic program (major) will remain the same and you will be expected to satisfy all requirements for the 2015-16 catalog year. If your declared academic program (major) is not available in this catalog year, your submission cannot be processed.
