Parking RampParking Ramps on Campus

There are three student parking areas on campus:

  1. The Bostwick Ramp, accessible off Bostwick and Ransom Streets NE
  2. The Lyon Parking Ramp, accessible from Bostwick Street NE
  3. The Barclay Lot, accessible from Lyon Street NE

Ramp Hours

During the school year, the ramp hours are Monday through Friday from 6 am to 11 pm Saturdays from 7 am to 5 pm (Main Ramp only), and Sundays the top of the Main Ramp is open all day. In the summer, the ramps are open Monday through Thursday from 6 am to 11 pm, and Fridays, from 6 am to 6:30 pm.On Saturdays and Sundays the top of the Main ramp is open all day.

Prices

Exit for students is $2.50* wth a RaiderCard student ID (tokens are no longer accepted). To obtain your RaiderCard, Click Here. Otherwise, cash prices are $1 per half-hour, or $9 per day.

*Recently Increased

Overhead Clearance

The overhead clearance for the Bostwick Ramp is 6'4”, and for the Lyon Ramp 7'. All oversized vehicles should park in the Barclay Lot. Please note that parking is first come, first served.

Blue Emergency Call Boxes

There are emergency all boxes on each level of both parking ramps. These phones are to be used to summon GRCC police when there is a physical injury, crime in progress, suspicious people or vehicles, or disorderly conduct.

Metered Parking

There is limited metered parking on the city street surrounding the campus. Be forewarned! Metered street parking is heavily patrolled by police. Tickets often result from expired meters and illegal parking.

Greenride (Ridesharing Program)

GRCC has partnered with The Rapid to offer a rideshare service called Greenride. This service allows you to find other GRCC students in your area to rideshare with – great for saving money on gas, and great for the environment! Click here for more details and to set up your profile.

Dash Parking BusDASH (Downtown Area Shuttle)

This service is operated by the City of Grand Rapids Parking Services. GRCC reserves over 500 parking spots in the DASH program and are available on a first come, first served basis to GRCC students. A dedicated shuttle runs to campus from the DASH lot weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This program is highly recommended for students taking primarily day time classes and who are arriving to campus between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. This parking option is cheaper than parking on campus for full time students (coming to campus 3 or more days per week) – and guarantees that you get a parking spot and get to class on time! For a map of the DASH lot and routes (we use lot #9 and The Hill shuttle) click here. For rates and information on how to sign up please click here.

Premium Parking

GRCC has acquired 150 spaces in a parking lot close to campus (corner of Ionia and Lyon). Students can purchase a spot in the Premium Parking lot for both fall and winter semesters. The Premium Parking program is guaranteed, unlimited parking – you never have to wait in line again! For a map of the Premium Parking lot (#9, Pearl & Ottawa) click here. For rates and information on how to sign up please click here.

Bus Services – The Rapid

GRCC is located on a bus line. For more details on routes click here.

Student Life (1st floor, Student Center) sells $8 discounted student 10-ride passes (requires student ID to use), and $35 31-day passes.

Motorcycle Parking

Motorcycle parking is available only in the Bostwick Ramp. When arriving to campus with a motorcycle, you must enter and exit on the first level (off Fountain) through the designated areas. For questions please contact Campus Police at (616) 234-4010.
