Notice: Expect Traffic Congestion on Main Campus Due to Construction
We want to provide you with important details from the City of Grand Rapids about the upcoming closure of the Division and Lyon intersection as well as provide an update regarding the intersection work at Division and Fulton.
Starting Thursday, October 31, the Division and Lyon intersection will be closed for approximately 5-6 weeks. The Division and Fulton intersection is scheduled to reopen on November 11.
This means that both the Division/Fulton and Division/Lyon intersections will be closed from October 31 to November 11.
For your reference, we've attached a map outlining the planned detour routes. We encourage you to plan accordingly and give yourself extra time to travel to and from Main Campus.
Thank you for your cooperation!

The storage is located in an enclosed and covered area, in the northwest corner of the lowest level of Parking Ramp A. The area is unmonitored, and participants gain accessed by using their RaiderCard.
You may park your bicycle in this area at your own risk of any theft, fire or damage to their bicycle or its contents. You must be a current student or employee to enroll in this program; a change in your enrollment or employment status will forfeit your eligibility for this program.
EV Charging Stations
Two new electric vehicle (EV) charging stations are available for staff, student and visitor use within Parking Ramp A (formerly Bostwick Street Ramp). The staff charging station is located near the staff parking entrance off Fountain NE. The student/visitor station is located near the Bostwick NE ramp entrance. Each station is able to charge two cars at a time on adjacent parking spaces. Only vehicles that are using the charging stations may park in the designated spots which are painted green.
If the EV charging stations in Parking Ramp A (formerly Bostwick Street Ramp) are highly utilized, more stations will be considered in the future.
Using a Charging Station
In order to use a station, you must have a ChargePoint account. ChargePoint fully manages all of our charging stations and they provide support 24/7 from through the app or the support number listed on the station’s interactive screen. For additional information including instructions and videos on how to use the station, download the ChargePoint mobile app and sign up for a free ChargePoint account. In addition to station usage fee, users must have a valid parking permit, or pay the designated parking fees.
To ensure that access is available to as many users as possible, vehicles using the charging stations must be moved to a regular parking space within Parking Ramp A (formerly Bostwick Street Ramp) or exit the ramp when fully charged. When the vehicle is charged, ChargePoint will send the user a notification that the car is charged, and that they have 30 minutes to move the vehicle.
Cost
The cost to use an EV station is 15 cents per kilowatt hour. After the 30-minute time period the user will be charged $1 per hour.
Metered parking
There is limited metered parking on the city streets surrounding Main Campus. Metered street parking is heavily patrolled. Tickets often result from expired meters and illegal parking. You can now use your cell phone to pay for parking at a city meter. Learn more on the City of Grand Rapids website.
Motorcycle
Motorcycle Parking
Motorcycle parking is available only in Parking Ramp A (formerly Bostwick Street Ramp). When arriving to campus with a motorcycle, you must enter and exit on the first level (off Fountain) through the designated areas. For questions please contact GRCC Police at (616) 234-4010.
Overhead clearance
The overhead clearance for Parking Ramp A (formerly Bostwick Street Ramp) is 6 feet 4 inches, and Parking Ramp B (formerly Lyon Street Ramp) is seven feet. Parking Ramp C for most of the available parking does not have an overhead structure.
Ridesharing Program
GRCC has partnered with The Rapid to offer a rideshare service called West Michigan Rideshare Program. This service allows you to find other GRCC students in your area to rideshare with — great for saving money on gas, and great for the environment!
Veterans Parking
The Veterans Parking program is for veterans who qualify for the chapter 31 vocational rehabilitation program. Check with the Veterans Services office to verify eligibility status.
This program allows you to park in any of the GRCC downtown parking lots. Your RaiderCard will grant you access to enter and exit the lots.
