National Certification Examination results
The total number of graduates who passed the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification examination as graduates testing within one year of graduation in 2012-2014 was 48 out of 48, which is a pass rate of 100%. The employer survey identified that Grand Rapids Community College graduates are well prepared for the role of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant by demonstrating the ability to provide treatment and act as a member of the treatment team.
Graduate Survey and Employment
The graduates have reported employment as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in a variety of settings including rehabilitation hospitals, psychiatric facilities, school settings and long term care providers.
The American Occupational Therapy Association, Inc. identifies on its web page that "good pay and a predicted 34% increase in job growth over the next 10 years helped to add occupational therapy to a list of the best 50 jobs in America." 4/18/2006
