International Students
Thank you for your interest in Grand Rapids Community College. We're proud of our commitment to diversity and our international student population is a vital part of the College community.
Application Deadlines
Applicants wishing to begin in September must submit a completed application by June 1. Students wishing to begin in January must submit a completed application by October 1.
An I-20 will be issued by Grand Rapids Community College after the following documents are received and processed by the Admissions Office.
Application Requirements for International Students
- Completed International Application
signed and dated by applicant - Bank statement
Students must provide a bank statement and customer profile from a bank certifying the availability of $20,290 American Dollars. Tuition is calculated by contact hours. See the college catalog for individual course information.
- High school diploma/transcript or College transcript
- TOEFL score (not required from students from listed exempt countries. See complete list at the English Requirements page.
Students must provide proof of English ability by submitting official scores from either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Students must score a 71 on the internet-based version of the TOEFLor 197 on the computer version of the TOEFL. Original copies of TOEFL scores must be submitted.

- Summary of INS regulations for F-1 Students Form.
- International Student Transfer Form, required only if applicant is transferring from another US institution
Students entering the following curricula will accumulate higher than average contact hours during their program of study: Applied Technology, Drafting, Health Sciences, Hospitality, and Manufacturing.
