Strategic planning is an organization’s process of defining its strategy or direction, determining the best paths to achieve the established goals, and identifying indicators which measure progress.
In Fall, 2009, the GRCC Board of Trustees began the process of revising the college mission, vision, values and ends. Working with the College Planning Council and with input from faculty, staff, and students, the Board formally drafted and adopted new guiding documents in Fall, 2010.
The Strategic Leadership Team worked in 2010-2011 to prepare a three-year strategic plan outlining strategies, action projects, project champions, and indicators of success. Since then, the SLT has monitored the on-going implementation of the strategic plan action projects as well as the indicators of success. Subteams of the SLT prepare regular Monitoring reports for the Board of Trustees. In addition, as the years progressed new action projects were added and others retired in response to changing conditions and accomplishments. In fall, 2013, the SLT began to prepare a new strategic plan for 2014-2017.
This website was established to keep all college stakeholders informed about the strategic planning process. It will be updated regularly and can be used to track progress on the college’s implementation of the strategic plan. We hope you will find this site a useful tool for information and communication.
