Energy Program Savings

Grand Rapids Community College has saved over $3.8 million through its energy conservation efforts over the last 4 years. GRCC launched its energy program in May of 2008 through a partnership with the energy consultation company, Cenergistic. Since then, energy consumption has been reduced by 181,820 MMBTUs. That reduction translates into the equivalent of 19,263 tons of carbon dioxide removed from the atmosphere, or 3,458 passenger cars removed from the road, or 492,716 trees planted.

The college has reduced energy consumption by 20% which translates to $3,802,846 dollars in savings.
