Energy Program Savings

Grand Rapids Community College has saved more than $6.8 million through its energy conservation efforts over the last seven years. GRCC launched its energy program in May of 2008. Since then, energy consumption has been reduced by 312,479 MMBTUs. That reduction translates into the equivalent of 32,511 tons of carbon dioxide removed from the atmosphere, or 6,773 passenger cars removed from the road, or 833,625 trees planted.

The college has reduced energy consumption by 20.7% which translates to $6,820,283 dollars in savings.
