Bb Mobile Learn

NOTICE: Change in licensing coming September 10, 2012 through the 17th.

Blackboard has changed the licensing of Mobile Learn.  The new "Personal License" option, will be available in mid-September and will allow students and instructors to purchase access to the app on iOS and Android only. End users will be able to choose between two different introductory pricing options: $1.99 per year or a one-time fee of $5.99.

Faculty and students of Grand Rapids Community College, through the Blackboard Mobile™ Learn platform, can access mobile apps (including iPhone®, iPod touch®, iPad®, Android™) by purchasing the app through the app store.  These apps enable learning-on-the-go with the ability to:

  • Easily access courses and organizations on a mobile device.
  • Check timely announcements.
  • Access grading information.
  • Participate in discussions, wikis, and blogs.
  • Read course documents and course materials.
  • Create content and upload media as attachments to blogs, journals and discussions 

To begin using Mobile Learn, access the Apple and Android app stores to  download the app.  When setting up the application, the choice to license the $1.99 or $5.99 option will occur as an in app purchase. (Note:  BlackBerry®, and Palm® smartphones are not available through the personal license option and requires an institutional license.)

  • Powerpoint Slide to use in your first lecture when you are introducing students to your course and learning-on-the-go options for them; encouraging them to access Bb Mobile Learn!
  • Syllabus or Email message for a template you can use to inform your students at the beginning of your course.
