CO 275 - Application Development and Security for Mobile Devices

In the online CO 275 class you will develop mobile applications for the Android and iPhone platforms.  You will learn how to use the Appcelerator Titanium platform, which allows you to create business mobile applications.  You will consider security environment as it applies to wireless transmission and mobile devices.

This core course in the Information Security degree will use a cross-platform tool to develop mobile applications. Top mobile security issues and the best methods for insuring high level security will be addressed.

There are prerequisite courses for this class.  In some situations these can be waved by the instructor and the department head.

Titanium platform allows developers to use intermedia JavaScript-like langauge to create mobile applications for multiple mobile systems: Android, iPhone, Blackberry.  This also includes tablet systems and desktop systems.  The power of maintaining one version of the code is in maintainability and consistency across the iOS App Store and other market places.

Appcelerator Titanium is comparable to Adobe Air or Microsoft Silverlight due to support of multiple destinations: applications for Windows, Mac and also Linux.
