March 12, 2015 GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Sixty companies – with openings ranging from teacher to mobile crane operator – will be at Grand Rapids Community College’s spring job fair on March 17.
The event — from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the first floor and parking level of the Wisner-Bottrall Applied Technology Center at 151 Fountain St. NE — is open to GRCC students, alumni and the community.
Employers that are scheduled to attend include Walker Tool & Die Inc., Camp Tall Turf, Fox Motors and Mercy Health, among others.
“The best advice I have for making the most of our job fair is to be prepared and enthusiastic when speaking to employers,” said Luanne Wedge, associate director of GRCC’s Student Employment Services. “After you look through a list of employers that will be attending — and what types of jobs they have available — visit their websites to do some basic research beforehand. Prepare a short, 20- to 30-second, introduction to use with employers. Dress professionally and bring many copies of your resume with you!”
To see a list of the more than 700 positions that the attending businesses hope to fill, download the document “Positions Available at the Sp15 Job Fair” on the far right of this page.
GRCC encourages the entire community to participate in its programs and activities. If you anticipate a need for an accommodation, or have questions about accessibility, please call the Student Employment Services office at (616) 234-4170 in advance of your visit or program participation.
