Feb. 17, 2014 GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Students will be able to make plans for both their short- and long-term future during Grand Rapids Community College’s Career Showcase on Feb. 18 and 19.
GRCC’s business department hosts the event, which allows students to explore career possibilities in accounting, business and office administration, marketing, management and supervision, and interior design. Sessions will include an overview of the program of study, degree options at GRCC, transfer options, employment opportunities, and time for students to ask questions.
“We organize this event to help our business students understand and appreciate the various careers that are available to them if they complete their program at GRCC,” said Felix Pereiro, department chairman.
While the showcase gives students a glimpse of their possible careers, they also will attend sessions designed to help them plan the immediate steps they’ll need to take to train for these jobs. Sessions will also focus on transfer options, the My Degree Path program and graduation audits.
Sessions start at 9 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. on both days and will be held in GRCC’s new Meijer Center for Business Studies (on the second floor of the Main Building). If you anticipate a need for an accommodation, or have questions about accessibility, please call GRCC’s business department at (616) 234-4220 in advance of your visit.
Grand Rapids Community College, established in 1914, offers opportunities for more than 30,000 students annually in degree courses, certification and training programs, workshops and personal enrichment classes.
