Adult Basic Education

The Adult Basic Education (ABE) Program helps adults improve their reading levels. This class focuses on reading skills, vocabulary, spelling, and other comprehension skills.  A combination of teacher and computer base instruction is used to help students learn the required material.

This course will help students to enter in the GRCC GED ® test preparation program and experience success.

Students who score between the grade levels of 6 – 8.9 in the TABE Survey will be enrolled in our ABE class.

Students who score a 5.9 grade level or below on the TABE Survey will be referred to the Literacy Center of West Michigan located at 1120 Monroe NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49503, 616-459-5151.
