I already applied to GRCC several years ago and took classes. Do I need to apply again?

No, once you have applied to GRCC you will not have to re-apply. If any amount of time has passed since you took classes at GRCC, you will need to update your student record. You can do this in the Enrollment Center or with an Academic Advisor.

Do I need to take an entrance exam?

You might be asked to take a placement test called the Accuplacer to assess your reading, writing and math abilities. This will help your Academic Advisor place you in appropriate courses.

How do I know what classes I should take?

Once you are admitted to GRCC you can make an appointment to meet with an Academic Advisor who can assist you in selecting courses based on your assessment test scores and the requirements of your major. The GRCC catalog outlines these courses and the sequence you should follow.

I want to change my career or update my job skills. Can you help me?

Career Development Services offers workshops and seminars as well as assessment tools and career counseling to assist you in the career decision making process.

How do I plan a schedule with a busy life?

Make an appointment to see your academic advisor to discuss class schedule options and put together a plan to incorporate your educational goals with you career and personal commitments. GRCC offers day, evening, online and weekend classes. Our semester schedules are also available at http://www.grcc.edu/catalog. Remember to register early to get the class times that best fit your schedule.

Is financial aid available?

The Financial Aid office will help you to determine your needs and assist you in obtaining financial aid. financial aid comes in many different forms-federal grants and loans, scholarships and tuition payment plans. The Financial Aid office can provide more information and application instructions for any of these options.

What if I don't have a high school degree or need to brush up on some subjects?

If you wish to take courses to obtain a high school equivalency degree through examination (GED), contact either of our Learning Corners. GRCC also offers remedial courses through the Academic Foundations Program which allows students to develop skills in Math, Reading and English necessary to be successful in college.
