Adult Students

GRCC is dedicated to providing you with the information you need to make effective educational decisions, as well as helping you to navigate through the process of enrolling and becoming a successful student at Grand Rapids Community College.

If you are a nontraditional or adult learner at GRCC you are not alone, over 30% of our student population is age 25 and older and 60% attend school part time.

We offer a variety of educational options, affordable tuition and flexible scheduling so you can effectively balance your education with other commitments in your life.

Many of our students are undecided about what career path they want to follow. Career Development Services offers workshops, seminars and courses, as well as career counseling and assessment tools that will help you to better understand your interests and skills and to set appropriate career goals. At that point you can determine which academic program at GRCC will best serve your needs and interests.

If you have other college credit from other institutions, please submit an official transcript along with your application and the Student Records Office will evaluate your credits and determine what will transfer into your program at GRCC.

Our primary goal at GRCC is student success. Please don't hesitate to contact any staff or faculty member for any question you have or to receive further information on any of our programs and services.

Please refer to the Admissions and Enrollment Center Prospective Students section of this website to give you the information you need to get the best possible start. You can apply online if you haven't done so already.
