Placement Testing

Upon enrollment, all of our students are required to take one to three placement tests.

Our placements tests are not pass or fail; the results are used to ensure you are enrolled in courses that match your skill level and subject knowledge. These assessments also help us identify any potential opportunities for you to bypass courses not required for your degree or transfer pathway.

We provide three placement tests: ALEKS PPLAccuplacer and Levels of English Proficiency (LOEP), to determine your strengths and weaknesses in subjects including:

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Reading comprehension

After you have reviewed which test you will need to take, schedule an appointment or drop in for testing on our Main or Lakeshore Campus.

Which Test Do You Need to Take?

You must take all three placement tests (Reading, Writing and Math) if you have one of the following:

  • A GPA of 1.99 or lower.
  • A GED (no high school diploma).
  • No high school degree, GED or college credits.

If you have a high school GPA of 2.0 or above:
